Many a times skeptics’ debate or analysis’ are unfair. This is so because most of the time, all they want is mock their opponent or make them look silly. This only shows their level of morality.
One form of unfairness or dishonesty is to to ask invalid questions and press for a reply. Most obviously invalid questions do not have valid answers. And so asking invalid questions and silencing the opponent is unfair and dishonest.
An invalid question comes out of invalid premise. You just pick a statement and assume that the Christians believe it and claim it to be true and then you question it. This question is a typical example for this. Let me explain.
The question is Why does throw some people to hell?
- The premise is God throws people into hell.
- You then assume that Christians believe this is true.
- Then you question this with a “Why?”
Here the premise itself is wrong. God does not throw people into hell. It would be like saying that a teacher failed a student. It is not the teacher who fails the students. A teacher can only award marks how the student has answered his questions. If student has only answered questions worth 10 marks the teacher is left with no choice but to award 10 marks only. Therefore God does not condemn anyone to hell but each person is solely responsible for that.
Since the premise is wrong the question is invalid.
If you want to debate of analyze religious stud have the courage to do that honestly. Have the courage to ask valid questions rather than hiding behind invalid questions.
